Green Bounces Back With World Series Win

SOUTH Australian Trevor Green desperately wanted to win round five of Wanless World Series Sprintcars in front of his home track, family and sponsors in Adelaide last week.
That didn’t happen.

But seven days later, out of the sight of most of his backers and with probably less pressure on the driver of the #4 Adrad Radiators machine, Green struck gold when he won round six at Hobart Speedway last night.

It was a welcome return to form for the race-hardened professional who has had a stressful run in recent weeks.

A damaged motor along with two failing rear-ends certainly put a lot of strain on the team’s machinery and dented their pride.

Well a week is a long time in racing and hopefully the win will give them the impetus they need to be strong for the rest of the campaign.

He won the main event from the dominant Brooke Tatnell and Max Dumesny.

Robbie Farr led early but three laps in Queenslander Peter Lack flipped in turns three-four bringing on the red lights.

Unfortunately for Farr his chances of striking his first win in the 2008/09 series took a dive when his wing tree snapped meaning he had to pull infield.

Green inherited the lead and stayed in front until the end.

On lap 28 former national champion Kerry Madsen, driving the Robin Dawkins #21 mounted a series challenge and looked like he was going to run under Green, until he got crossed up and flipped.

South Australian Ricky Maiolo, who was fifth at the time, had nowhere to go and ploughed in the Madsen machine, putting both front-runners out of the picture.

In the dash to the line Green led from Tatnell and Dumesny.

Local hero Jason Dawkins passed Queenslander James McFadden on the lap to finish fourth.
This was a good result for the T10 driver who was fastest in qualifying at the start of the night.

Tasmanian drivers did pretty well in the main event with Tim Hutchins, Shannon Wynne-Allen, Jamie Bricknell and Jason Redpath claiming spots sixth to nine with South Australian Wayne Rowett rounding out the top 10, and winning the Performance Wholesale Lucky 10 award.

Wynne-Allen won the B main from Kane Cruse, Bricknell, Ashley House, Adrian Redpath, and Rowett.

Farr set up his pole start after winning the A Dash from Tatnell, Lack, Dumesny, Kurt Luttrell and Jason Redpath.

Green claimed his front-row start after winning the B Dash from Madsen, McFadden, Jason Dawkins, Maiolo and Tim Hutchins.

Green Pumped, Krikkes On Film And More

“I SIMPLY cannot wait for Saturday night and the aim is to bounce back to form by scoring a place on the podium,” South Australian Trevor Green said on Thursday.

Green made the comment in the lead up to round five of Wanless World Series Sprintcars to be held on his home track at Truckworks Speedway City in Adelaide this Saturday night.

“Even better would be to take out a win.

“I am hoping that all my bad luck is now behind me and I can concentrate on getting my season back on track.

“There would be nothing better than taking out a win at my home track in front of all my family, supporters and sponsors. I cannot think of a better way to get back into form.”

When he last raced on the Adelaide clay in the Australian Sprintcar Masters prior to the series starting Green finished a strong second to Max Dumesny.

It would be a great turn around for the popular driver who had a tough weekend in the double header in Perth last weekend.

“Everything that could have gone wrong actually did go wrong.”
He cited a damaged engine and rear end as two of the major setbacks in his campaign.

THE Krikke Motorsport team will provide an insight into the mayhem behind the scenes on a race night with a camera stationed in their pit area this Saturday night.

The footage will then be put up on a webcast.

“Race night is not the glamorous time that some fans seem to think it is,” team owner Shane Krikke said.

“And with a camera in our pit area the fans will get to see our team setting up the car and the work that is required from them just to get the KMS Toyota Genuine Parts TRD Cool car out on the track each race.”

Apart from the crew all trying to be movie stars they will also be trying to get driver Brooke Tatnell on the podium for the fourth time in four race meetings.

Tatnell finished third in his first race in Sydney two weeks ago and then claimed two wins in Perth last weekend.

The webcast can be sourced from www.sprintcarworld.com.au or www.krikkemotorsport.com.au from around 6pm Adelaide time.

Trevor Green Scores His Third Parramatta Sprintcar Championship.

Last Saturday night, despite rain canceling the final Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway sprintcar meeting of the summer, Trevor Green was took home the biggest prize of the Parramatta sprintcar summer, the 2006/7 Coca Cola TPCR track championship.

Trevor’s Green Bros Racing #11 COOL sprintcar amassed 3706 points and was easily the winner of the tough season long championship making it back to back titles for the South Australian ace and his third TPCR title in four years, certainly not a bad achievement.

In two weeks time the newly crowned Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway sprintcar championship winner Trevor Green will fly out of Australia to resume his partnership with Barry Lewis to attack the very competitive American sprintcar scene. Unlike last year, Trevor and Barry will be basing their racing in California and will have the use of American Tommy Tarlton’s workshop. Trevor will again racing the Aussie built COOL chassis sprintcar and although the American racing scene is fast and furious, he is confident to post his fair share of podium finishes as well as victories. One thing is certain after another season racing in the USA, Trevor will return to Australia race fit and ready to tackle the tough upcoming Parramatta 2007/8 Summer of Speed.

The Green Bros team couldn’t race without the help and support of Maxwill Motors, The Truck Factory, Adrad Radiators, Australia Wide Towing, Mike Hughes & Partners, TSS and Green Welding.

Trevor’s Looking Good For Back To Back Tpcr Titles.

The Green Bros team headed back to the Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway for the second last sprintcar show of the summer and racing against some of the finest sprintcar racers around, a cautious Trevor Green picked up a solid second placing in the 30 lap A Main feature.

“All in all it wasn’t too bad! The trouble with point’s races is that you have to be conservative and we had problems over the past few weeks with the car being too tight. We went the opposite way tonight and we were too free. We are still working in developing the new shocks so we have still got a lot more speed to come out of the car. Tonight we were conservative with the car, conservative with the racing. While this week was important, next week is very important as all we have to do is make it into the feature and I’m in pretty good shape to win the points again.”

The #11 Eagle was looking good right from qualifying, with Trevor setting fourth quick time in a quality 60 plus sprintcar field. Trevor was a little conservative in heat four finishing with a solid fourth position before a sensational victory in the second Dash race. The win gave Trevor a front row starting position in the important 30 lap A Main. In the feature, Trevor was certainly driving for a finish and ran most of the race in second or third position before picking up a still brilliant second placing in the A Main. That allowed Trevor to build up a larger points break in the 2006/7 Coca Cola TPCR sprintcar track championship.

Trevor returns to the Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway for one final time this Saturday night and with a slight points advantage the former SA star is heading towards this third and back to back TPCR track championship crowns.

Trevor Green Storms Into Fourth Place In Title Weekend.

Last weekend, the cream of Australian sprintcar racers headed south to the Mountain Dew Ice Speedway in Tasmania and the Green Bros team were looking forward to a good result in the 2007 Australian sprintcar title meeting. Starting back in the 18 car championship final, the #11Cool of Trevor Green stormed forward finishing the title race in fourth position.

After some really solid podium finishers in recent weeks, Trevor and the team were confident going into the 2007 Australian Sprintcar championship shoot out. The opening night results showed that Trevor’s #11 machine made forward progress all evening with a second and sixth placing in the two heats contested. After coming from position 16 in the preliminary A Main feature, Trevor greeted the checker in eighth position, but he did have a few problems during the night. After sorting out the problems, the guys were confident of a better showing the following night.

Last Sunday night, final round of heats again saw Trevor “standing on the gas” in his Cool sprintcar and powered forward in both his heats. Coming out of position 11, Trevor quickly stormed towards the leaders and while Brooke Tatnell had built up a lead, Trevor battled with Max Dumesny and Robbie Farr and was confident of a podium finish. A stoppage late in the race saw Trevor loosing his momentum and had to settle for fourth position and just missing out on a podium finish.

“It was a great race track and I thought I could have taken Max Dumesny until we had a yellow. Brooke was also coming back to the field, so anything could have happened.”

Trevor returns to the Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway this Saturday night for the 2007 NSW 410 Title and with two previous second places, Trevor is looking to take out the NSW crown adding to his already impressive tally of race wins.
